What people call us about.
These are the things that get noticed first. None of them settles where the water is coming from, and all of them are worth a call.
A connection under a sink is dripping, or the cabinet floor beneath it has gone damp.
A faucet or a shower keeps dripping after it has been turned off.
A toilet runs on its own, or there is water on the floor around the base.
There is water under the water heater, the washing machine, or the dishwasher.
A stain or a soft spot has appeared on a ceiling or a wall and nobody knows what is behind it.
Something is wet in the garage or the crawl space and the source is not obvious.
Tell us what is wet and how long it has been wet.
Some of this is a repair. Some of it is an assessment first.
Water leaks, drain leaks, fixture problems, and plumbing failures. Which one you have, and whether the source is in front of us, decides how much of the visit is spent finding it.

Water leaks
What that is
Water getting out of a connection, a valve, or a length of pipe on the supply side.
Where we work on it
Assessed and repaired where the pipe or the connection can be reached and worked on directly.
- Ref L-02
Drain leaks
What that is
Water getting out of a drain line rather than a water line. Usually noticed under a fixture, in a cabinet, or in a crawl space.
Where we work on it
Reached the way a drain is reached: through the fixture, the trap, or a cleanout where there is one.
- Ref L-03
Fixture problems
What that is
A toilet, a faucet, a shower, or the valve behind one that will not seal, will not stop running, or has stopped working the way it should.
Where we work on it
The fixture is in front of us. Repair or replacement is explained, with an estimate, before anything is approved.
- Ref L-04
Plumbing failures
What that is
Something that has given out rather than worn down. A connection that has come apart, a section of pipe that has failed, a component that has stopped holding.
Where we work on it
What can be reached decides what gets repaired in place and what has to be replaced. We go through both.
Ref L-05 / What decides the visit
- Source visible
- A connection you can watch drip is a normal service call. The finding is already done, so the visit is about the repair and what it involves.
- Source not visible
- When water is showing up and nothing is visibly dripping into it, the first part of the visit is working back through the accessible plumbing to find where it is leaving. That takes time. Some visits are billed as a paid assessment, and we tell you what applies before we start.
How a leak call goes.
The same order every time. What changes is how much of it is finding and how much is fixing.
We start with what is wet
Where the water is showing up, when it started, what is directly around it, and what has already been done to it. That narrows things down well before anything gets taken apart.
We work back to what can be reached
What can be reached decides what can be checked, and that is where the assessment happens. Specialized diagnostic equipment is scheduled when needed.
We explain what we found
We assess the issue, explain our findings, and provide an estimate before any approved work begins. If the source is not in the accessible plumbing, you hear that too, along with what we think the next step is.
What decides a leak repair.
Two leaks that look the same from the outside are not always the same job. Four things separate them, and we go through all four before anything is approved.
The condition of the plumbing
What the pipe, the connection, or the fixture is in decides whether it gets repaired where it sits or replaced. Older buildings around Los Angeles turn up plenty of both.
What can be reached
A connection in an open cabinet and one that has to be got to are not the same job. Access changes what the work involves and how long it takes.
Materials
What is already there decides what a repair gets joined to. It is one of the reasons the same repair is not the same number at two properties.
The actual scope of work
One connection, a length of pipe, or a fixture and everything feeding it. What the job turns out to be is what the estimate gets written against.
What "accessible" means here
It means the pipe, the connections, the valves, and the fixtures that can be reached and worked on. Where the source turns out to be something we cannot reach, we say so instead of guessing, and we go through what the next step would be. Where the thing leaking turns out to be a drain line rather than a joint in front of us, that can point to drain cleaning or to repair of the line itself, and we tell you which one we think it is and why.
What does leak detection and plumbing repair cost in Los Angeles?
Finding a leak and fixing one are not always the same amount of work, and two properties are not either. Some visits are billed as a paid assessment, and we tell you what applies before we start. Pricing depends on the plumbing condition, accessibility, materials, and actual scope of work. If additional work is discovered, it will be explained and approved before proceeding.
Rated 5.0 by LA homeowners.
Real reviews, in their own words. Each card opens the listing it came from.
“My old water heater broke and was leaking everywhere. Zlatko was able to arrive with a replacement an hour after I called, and he brought the model I wanted. His price was lower than other bids I got. Highly recommend.”
“Javier installed three faucet sets that had rusted on. Would use again without reservation.”
“Called at 8:45am… paying for the resolved issue by 10:30am.”
Leak and repair questions, answered.
What people usually want settled before they call. For anything else, just give us a ring.
Is the assessment free?
Not automatically. Finding out where water is coming from is a diagnostic service, and some visits are billed as a paid assessment. We tell you what applies before we start.
I can see the water but not where it is coming from. What happens then?
The first part of the visit is working back through the accessible plumbing to the point the water is leaving it. How long that takes depends on the property and on what can be reached. We tell you what that part of the visit involves before we begin, and you get a plain explanation of what we found either way.
How long does a leak repair take?
It depends on what is leaking, where it sits, and what has to be reached to work on it. Some are finished in the same visit. Others need a part, a return trip, or a larger repair than what was visible at the start. We provide a scheduled arrival window and communicate if the schedule changes.
What if getting to the leak means opening something up?
Then that is part of what gets explained before anything is approved, along with what putting it back would involve. We do not open anything up on a guess, and nothing starts before you have an estimate for it.
Can you tell me what is wrong over the phone?
We can usually tell you what it sounds like and what a visit would involve. What we will not do is put an estimate on plumbing nobody has looked at. What the call is good for is getting the property, the fixture, and what you are seeing written down, so the visit starts in the right place.
A drain is leaking, not a water line. Is that the same visit?
It is the same call. A drain line leaking where it can be reached gets assessed and repaired the way anything else accessible does. What changes is that a drain leak sometimes turns out to be about the line rather than the joint in front of us. If that is what we are seeing, we say so and go through what the next step would be.
The leak stopped on its own. Do I still need someone out?
It is worth a call. A leak that comes and goes usually depends on something being used, so it stops when the use stops rather than because it is fixed. Tell us what was running when you saw it and what it did afterwards.
